Anton Pal Montano, JD, Tax LLM, is the principal attorney of the Montano Law Firm PLLC. Mr. Montano has been licensed in Texas as an attorney and counselor at law for more than 20 years and has been fortunate to represent both individuals and businesses of all sizes, including both Fortune 500 companies and small businesses, in various legal matters. Mr. Montano currently practices in business, employment, and tax planning areas.
Mr. Montano particularly enjoys working with individuals, non-profits, and small business owners who need affordable and competent legal representation. Having immigrated as a young boy to the U.S., Mr. Montano believes wholeheartedly in the American entrepreneurial spirit and hopes to help clients achieve their business, non-profit, and personal goals. During his career, Mr. Montano has enjoyed learning about his client’s unique businesses or organizations, and has been fortunate to represent clients from a variety of working backgrounds. He has represented, among others, physicians, filmmakers, paralegals, software consultants, financial planners, salespersons, engineers, home health care agencies, non-profit organizations, genetic counselors, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, public policy researchers, medical clinics, energy consultants, and stores.
In 1993, Mr. Montano graduated summa cum laude from the Honors College at the University of Houston and received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award in the Department of Political Science. In 1997, Mr. Montano received his Juris Doctorate degree from Cornell University, where he was a member of the Cornell Law Review and the Moot Court Board. After law school, Mr. Montano was appointed to a two-year federal judicial clerkship and worked as a federal briefing attorney to the late Honorable U.S. Senior District Judge Lucius D. Bunton III in the Midland/Odessa and Pecos Divisions of the U.S. Western District of Texas.
After successfully completing his federal clerkship, Mr. Montano has had a diverse legal career, which has included working for large national law firms, smaller regional law firms, and working as an EEO consultant investigating discrimination and retaliation charges made against employers in different parts of the U.S. In 2015, as an adjunct professor, Mr. Montano enjoyed teaching an introductory business law course for undergraduates. Mr. Montano also enjoys volunteering as a member of the Advisory Council for Camp CAMP (Children’s Association for Maximum Potential), a camp in Center Point, Texas, for children and adults with special needs. In addition to being the principal attorney for the Montano Law Firm PLLC, Mr. Montano also serves of counsel for Legal Services International LLC, which has offices in Texas and in Canada. In 2016, Mr. Montano received his Tax LLM (Master of Laws) degree, graduating magna cum laude, from the University of Alabama School of Law.
